The Four Gospel namely the book of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John tell us four different viewpoints of Christ and are addressed to different kinds of people. Additionally, these Four Gospels are the one Ezekiel (in the book of Ezekiel) and John (in Revelation) saw in the vision as four winged creatures - winged lion, winged calf/ox, winged man, and the eagle. Some Bible scholars say that :
Matthew is the winged lion who seems to address his book to the Jewsgiving the perspective of Jesus as the King of Kings - for he specially saw Jesus as the Messiah and the Lion of the tribe of Judah and being the heir to the throne of David as he states Christ genealogy.
Mark being the winged calf and wrote the book mainly to the Romans - giving us the perspective of Jesus Christ as the Sacrifice and Servant. ("For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve..")
Luke (Gentile) as the winged man - for Jesus being Human as Luke presents the chronological order of the birth of Christ.
John as the eagle - stating us the Deity of Christ, Jesus being God (as seen in John 1:1-4)
